In order to prevent "neonatal and infant vitamin K deficiency hemorrhage", efforts have been made to give vitamin K2 syrup from the establishment of breastfeeding nutrition.
November 30, 2021 "Recommendations for the Prevention of Vitamin K Deficiency Hemorrhage in Newborns and Infants"(external link)was jointly presented by the Japan Pediatric Society and others. In response to this, from December 2021, we recommend that babies who are mainly breastfed take vitamin K2 syrup until they become 3 months old. We will explain this at the time of the one-month checkup. Please also refer to the Q&A (for parents) on how to prevent vitamin K deficiency hemorrhage in newborns and infants (external link).

The age at which infants and toddlers can receive health check-ups covered by public funds is strictly defined.
