⏰ Recommended Vaccination Schedule (based onknow VPD)

📌 As of March 2024, children in Japan receive four doses of the DPT-IPV vaccine (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio) as part of the routine immunization schedule by around 18 months of age. However, studies have shown that immunity acquired through vaccination gradually wanes, and children may become susceptible to diseases such as pertussis before entering elementary school.
As of 2025, Japan is experiencing a large outbreak of pertussis.
Since August 2018, the Japan Pediatric Society has recommended a fifth dose of the DTP vaccine (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) and the polio vaccine for children before school entry.
Additionally, instead of the routine DT vaccine (Diphtheria, Tetanus) given at ages 11–12, children may optionally receive the DTP vaccine.
If you wish to receive the optional DTP and polio vaccines, please select “Other Vaccines” in the online calendar and write the vaccine names in the remarks column.Latest updates on vaccinations “Vaccination Up to Date” page.
🌷 Over 95% of cervical cancer cases are caused by infection with human papillomavirus (HPV), which is primarily transmitted through sexual contact.
•HPV vaccines do not eliminate existing infections or cure lesions, so vaccination is recommended before the onset of sexual activity.
• HPV is associated not only with genital warts (condyloma acuminata) in both men and women, but also with at least 90% of anal cancers and 40% of vaginal, vulvar, and penile cancers.
• HPV vaccines can prevent HPV infection. Our clinic offers both quadrivalent and 9-valent HPV vaccines. As of July 2025, the quadrivalent vaccine is used only for optional vaccination in males, while nearly all females receive the 9-valent vaccine.

💻 Abrysvo® (RSV Maternal Immunization Vaccine) 🩺
👨👩👧 RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a leading cause of pneumonia and bronchiolitis in infants, with over 30,000 hospitalizations annually in Japan. Infants aged 1–2 months are particularly vulnerable, making early prevention essential.
Abrysvo is administered as a single 0.5 mL intramuscular injection to pregnant women between 24 and 36 weeks of gestation. The antibodies are passed to the baby, providing protection against RSV-related respiratory illness from birth.
Vaccination after 28 weeks of pregnancy is expected to offer higher efficacy. Studies show that Abrysvo prevents approximately 82% of severe infections up to 3 months of age and about 69% up to 6 months.
🟢 Injection site pain is generally mild to moderate, and no significant safety concerns have been reported.
Our clinic offers this vaccine only if your obstetrician does not provide it and has approved administration at another facility.
To book, select “Optional Vaccination” in the reservation system, write “Abrysvo” in the remarks column, and include your gestational week on the scheduled vaccination date.
