🔵nodoca® is an influenza diagnostic device that reduces patient discomfort. It uses AI to determine the presence of infection based on pharyngeal images taken with a dedicated camera and information gathered from patient interviews. Doctors will then make a comprehensive diagnosis of infection by combining the AI's assessment with clinical symptoms and other examination results.
The characteristic throat findings for influenza are said to be more clinically useful for diagnosis in patients earlier after symptom onset. In the clinical trials for this test, a higher sensitivity was observed in patients within 12 hours of symptom onset. If more than 24 hours have passed, conventional antigen tests appear to have a higher detection rate.
As of January 30, 2025, we cannot determine viral infections other than influenza. The target age is 6 years and older, and we cannot determine the type of influenza (Type A or Type B). We select the testing method based on the time since symptom onset for individuals who can hold their mouth open wide for 5 seconds or more to correctly photograph the findings of the posterior pharyngeal wall required for AI analysis.
