🌈Childhood Immunizations | To Parents/Guardians of Children Newly Residing in Akita City Who Wish to Receive Vaccinations at Our Clinic
📘Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook
📌Before visiting our clinic, please have your Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook (母子手帳) issued at Akita City Public Health Center Child Health Section (External Links) What is the MCH Handbook?. After receiving the MCH Handbook, please go to the vaccination page and fill in as much detail as possible about the record of vaccinations completed so far and visit our clinic.
• On the first visit, we will create a vaccination plan. Immunizations will be administered during the second and subsequent visits. We offer multiple vaccinations at the same time to ensure that necessary vaccinations are completed as quickly as possible.

Most vaccinations for children are publicly funded in Japan. However, Japan has strict age limits for publicly funded vaccinations.
• In addition, mumps vaccine, influenza vaccine, and some other vaccinations are not covered by public funds, so parents are responsible for the cost of these vaccines. In order to proceed with vaccinations in accordance with the vaccination schedule in Japan, we need to know exactly what vaccinations your children have completed so far, including before coming to Akita City. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

•MCH handbooks are issued to those who have moved to Akita City from overseas at the Akita City Public Health Center, Child Health Section.
•MCH Handbooks are also issued to pregnant women and those with children up to six months of age at the Akita City Hall when they move into the city. However, if you do not inform the city office that you and your child are eligible for the MCH handbook, the city official may not be aware of this and the MCH handbook may not be issued to you. In addition, Akita City Hall does not have a large inventory of MCH handbooks for foreigners, so they recommend visiting the Akita City Public Health Center, Children's Health Section from the beginning.
•For more information, please refer to the Maternal and Child Health Section of the Akita City website(External Links; The Akita city official website).
